Ecological Interactions
How do insects cope with changing environmental conditions?
We study the effects of global change on insect communities and, in this context, we are also interested in the structural mechanisms of biodiversity (abiotic and biotic factors), with a focus on wild bees and other members of the order Hymenoptera.
With this aim, we investigate how insect communities change along environmental gradients (climate and land-use gradients) by examining various levels of diversity—for example, at the levels of species, traits (morphological, chemical, and behavioral characteristics), and interactions (plant-pollinator, host-parasitoid, and bee-microbiome interactions) in both field and laboratory settings.
